Ellis anointed Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The College of New Rochelle junior forward Jah-Leah Ellis (Harlem, N.Y.) has been awarded the Association of Division III Independents women's basketball Player of the Week. Ellis posted a monster game in the Blue Angels' win over St. Joseph's College (L.I.). The forward tallied 32 points and a game-high 22 rebounds, adding five assists in The College of New Rochelle's 88-81 win. The junior converted 50 percent (12-of-24) from the field and 88.9 percent (8-of-9) from the line, and 11 of her 22 caroms came on the offensive glass. Ellis increased her double-double total to 13 on the year, which ranks her fifth in the NCAA Division III rankings and her 14.2 rebounds per game places her third in Division III.
