Ellis named Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The College of New Rochelle senior forward Jah-Leah Ellis (Harlem, N.Y.) has been selected the Association of Division III Independents women's basketball Player of the Week. Ellis averaged 21.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 3.5 assists per game for The College of New Rochelle last week. After recording a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, adding three assists and a game-high six steals, against Bard College, the senior exploded for a season high 30 points in the Blue Angels' road win at College at Old Westbury. The forward added 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals while playing all 40 minutes. Ellis' double-double total stands at nine, and she also ranks in the top-10 nationally in rebounds and points per game.
