Ellis Named Association of Division III Independents Student-Athlete of the Month for December

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents named The College of New Rochelle women's basketball forward Jah-Leah Ellis its Female Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of December.

Ellis, a senior from Harlem, New York, had a strong month for the Blue Angels, averaging 21.3 points and 13.0 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 3.0 assists per game. The forward recorded a double-double in each of The College of New Rochelle's four contests. The senior poured in a game-high 30 points in the Blue Angels' dramatic win over Old Westbury, adding 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals. Her high rebound game came against Albany Pharmacy, where she pulled down 17 caroms, and she tallied six steals twice during the month. November's Female Student-Athlete of the Month currently leads the Association in scoring and rebounding average, and is among the national leaders in rebounds per game and double-doubles.
