OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The College of New Rochelle senior forward Jah-Leah Ellis (Harlem, N.Y.) has been selected the Association of Division III Independents women's basketball Player of the Week. Ellis was a dominant force for the Blue Angels last week, tallying three double-doubles while averaging 17.7 points, 19.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.7 steals and 1.0 blocks per game over three games, including two critical conference wins that kept The College of New Rochelle tied atop the conference standings. In a senior night win over Yeshiva, the forward tallied 21 points, 18 rebounds, four assists and three steals. Against Berkeley College, Ellis notched her 16th double-double of the season, scoring 19 points while recording her fourth 20+ rebound game of the season, pulling down 24 caroms while adding three assists and two steals.
