Wanagas named Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Illinois Institute of Technology senior guard April Wanagas (Spring Grove, Ill.) has been selected the Association of Division III Independents women's basketball Player of the Week. Wanagas had a strong week for the Scarlet Hawks, averaging 15.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game in 29.5 minutes per game. The guard shot 41.2 percent (7-of-17) from downtown and scored in double figures in both of Illinois Tech's games this week. The senior began the week with 15 points and four rebounds in the Scarlet Hawks' game at Grace Bible on Tuesday before capping off a good week with 16 points, 12 coming from beyond the arc, against Albion on Saturday. Wanagas receives Player of the Week recognition for the first time this season.
