Johnson named Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Maranatha Baptist University sophomore forward Alexis Johnson (Stephenson, Mich.) has been selected the Association of Division III Independents women's basketball Player of the Week. Johnson averaged 12.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game, recording a double-double against Emmaus on February 22nd. The sophomore finished with 10 or more points in three of the four games, including a 19-point outing against Grace Bible in the NCCAA Regional Championship. Johnson set a program record for field goal percentage against Grace Bible, going 9-of-10 from the field.
