OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Trinity Washington University freshman midfielder Monica Amaya (Washington, D.C.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women's soccer Player of the Week. The freshman had a strong week for the Tigers as she finished with three goals on seven shots on goal and scored the game-winning goal in both of Trinity's wins this week. In her opening game of the week, Amaya tallied the lone goal of the game at Mary Baldwin as the Tigers picked up their third straight win to start the season. The midfielder concluded the week with a pair of goals on seven shots in Trinity's 4-1 win over Sweet Briar on September 11th.
