Brent Chase has been named the head women's soccer coach at Finlandia University. Chase's new duties will be in addition to his established and successful role at the university as the head men's soccer coach.

"We have been consistently impressed with the work that Brent has done in the short amount of time he has been here," Director of Athletics Kristan Schuster said. "I look forward to seeing Brent have many of those same successes with our women's soccer team."

In two seasons with the men's soccer team, Chase has lead the team to a combined 17-16 record. That record includes the program's first winning season at 11-7 in 2015. During that season the Lions ranked No. 29 in the nation in scoring, and Chase earned Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Coach of the Year honors.

Coach Chase's players have also seen significant success, including one AD3I Offensive Player of the Year, 10 players earning All-AD3I recognition, four All-WIAC players and one All-WIAC Sportsmanship Award winner.

Prior to taking the job at Finlandia University, Chase served as assistant coach at NCAA Division II Ohio Dominican University. Chase is taking over for former women's head coach Alex Ciaccio.

The women's soccer team will kick off their season in early September.
