Padilla Rios awarded Association of Division III Independents women’s volleyball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The College of New Rochelle freshman outside hitter Fabiola Padilla Rios (San Juan, PR/University Gardens HS) has been tabbed the Association of Division III Independents women's volleyball Player of the Week. Padilla Rios has posted a strong start to her collegiate career, averaging 2.39 kills, 1.04 aces and 4.04 digs per set in helping the Blue Angels to a 4-3 record, including wins in their last four matches. The freshman started her career on a high note, digging up a team-high 24 balls at Alvernia. The outside hitter came back the next day and recorded her first career double-double, slamming home ten kills to go along with 13 digs in a win over Centenary College. Padilla Rios had her strongest match of the week versus Manhattanville, as the rookie hammered a match-high 19 kills and also tallied 14 digs.
