King awarded Association of Division III Independents women’s volleyball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The College of New Rochelle senior outside hitter Meghan King (New City, N.Y.) has been tabbed the Association of Division III Independents women's volleyball Player of the Week. King was instrumental in leading the Blue Angels to a perfect 3-0 week, with all three wins conference triumphs and all three coming in straight sets. On the week, the senior led The College of New Rochelle with 29 kills, hitting .268 in the process as the Blue Angels clinched the HVIAC Regular Season Championship with wins over Pratt Institute and Culinary Institute of America. Last season's First Team All-Independent selection added 12 digs, eight aces and four total blocks as The College of New Rochelle improved to 17-4 on the season. King tallied a match-high seven aces and ten kills while hitting .455 against Yeshiva University and also slammed home 11 kills against Pratt.
