Renz awarded Association of Division III Independents women’s volleyball Student-Athlete of the Month

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Maranatha Baptist University senior middle blocker Alison Renz (Lake Mills, Wis.) has been tabbed the Association of Division III Independents women's volleyball Student-Athlete of the Month for September. The senior was a force at the net in September, finishing with 241 kills, 149 digs, 74 blocks and 27 aces as the Sabercats went 11-4. Renz finished with double-digit kills in all 15 matches during the month, including three matches with 20 or more kills, and had six double-doubles. The middle blocker hit an efficient .374 during the month and averaged 4.63 kills per set and 1.42 blocks per set. The senior produced a month high 22 kills along with 15 digs and nine blocks in Maranatha's five-set win over Milwaukee School of Engineering on September 17th. Renz currently ranks sixth in Division III in kills per set, third in blocks per set and points per set. The two-time Player of the Week during the month currently leads the Association in kills per set, hitting percentage and blocks per set.
