Grauzinis awarded Association of Division III Independents women’s volleyball Student-Athlete of the Month

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Illinois Institute of Technology senior outside hitter Irena Grauzinis (St. Charles, Ill.) has been tabbed the Association of Division III Independents women's volleyball Student-Athlete of the Month for October. The senior finished with 261 kills, a .163 hitting percentage and seven double-doubles as the Scarlet Hawks went 8-6 during the month. The three-time Player of the Week during the month also added 134 digs, 26 aces and 11 blocks and finished with 20 or more kills in six matches. Grauzinis had her best match of the month in a five-set win over St. Louis Pharmacy on October 15th when she posted 25 kills and 19 digs for her fifth double-double of the month at that point. The outside hitter later posted double-doubles against Robert Morris-Springfield and Concordia Chicago. The senior concludes the month with 4.83 kills per set, 2.48 digs per set and currently leads the Association with 467 kills.
