OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Illinois Institute of Technology junior guard Malik Howze (Detroit, Mich.) has been awarded the Association of Division III Independents men's basketball Player of the Week. Howze was a force in Illinois Tech's win over traditional Division III powerhouse Chicago. The junior led the team with 20 points and nearly missed a double-double, tallying nine rebounds. The guard also went 8-of-10 from the foul line and his defense was a key component in holding the Maroons to a sub .400 shooting percentage.
