OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Association of Division III Independents named The College of New Rochelle women's basketball forward Jasmine Brandon, its Female Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of December.
Brandon is a senior from Jersey City, N.J. The forward put together a strong month for the Blue Angels, averaging 26.4 points, 14.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game as New Rochelle went 3-2 during the month. Brandon recorded 20 or more points in all five games, had four double-doubles and shot a blistering 62.4 percent from the floor. The senior started off the month with a 24-point, 18-rebound outing in the Blue Angels' win over Purchase on December 4th. Brandon followed that performance up with back-to-back 30-point efforts against Albertus Magnus and Yeshiva, scoring a month-high 33 points in New Rochelle's 60-53 victory over the Maccabees on December 8th. The senior currently leads the Association in points (21.2) and rebounds (13.5) per game, while also leading in field goal percentage (57.4 percent).
