Sponable receives Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Student-Athlete of the Month award

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Maranatha Baptist University sophomore forward Alexis Sponable (Middleville, Mich.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women's soccer Student-Athlete of the Month for September. The sophomore ended the month with six goals and one assist for a total of 13 points in nine games. Sponable had two game-winning goals and was a two-time Player of the Week during the month. The forward scored the game-winning goal in the Sabercats' 1-0 win at Lakeland on September 4th and followed that up with two goals in the win against North Central (Minn.) on September 6th. Sponable recorded a hat-trick in Maranatha Baptist's 3-1 win at Blackburn on September 21st and dished out an assist in a tie against Finlandia on September 25th.
