OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Maranatha Baptist University sophomore outside hitter Claire Hansel (Watertown, Wis.) has been tabbed the Association of Division III Independents women's volleyball Student-Athlete of the Month for October. Hansel averaged 3.81 kills and 3.19 digs per set as she led the Sabercats to a 6-3 record on the month. The sophomore recorded four double-doubles during the month with the first coming on October 6th at Silver Lake when she posted 13 kills and 13 digs. The outside hitter later recorded a month-high 23 kills and had 19 digs at Judson on October 20th. The two-time Player of the Week during the month also had a double-double at Emmaus on October 20th, producing 15 kills and a month-high 21 digs in a five-set win. Hansel tallied her final double-double of the month on October 27th when she posted 15 kills and 14 digs in a win over Central (Iowa). The sophomore leads the Association in kills per set and kills.
